Ramandeep Singh Grewal was born on August 18, 1971 at Chandigarh. He received his higher education in Science from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana.

He is an employee of the Punjab Police, holding the post of the Superintendent of Police. In the domestic ircuit he plays for Punjab Police on the position of left-half.

He played in the Senior Nationals and in the National Games at Bangalore in 1997. He has played more than 200 international matches, le has twice represented India in the Olympic Games of 1996 and 2000, [n the 2000 Olympics he was the captain of the team. In the 1996 Atianta Olympics he scored 3 goals. He was presented the Arjuna Award in 1999.

Raman deep Singh Grewal also participated in the World Cup held at Utrecht in 1998. He received a lot of fame when he scored the winning goal in 1995 during the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup. He also took part in the Asian Games held at Bangkok and scored 2 goals. He has also played in: tournaments like the Commonwealth Games and Asia Cup.
