Respected Madam,

With due respect I beg to state that I have been down with typhoid since last Tuesday. I am, therefore, unable to come to school and attend my classes. I have been under the treatment of my family doctor, who has advised me, four days' bed rest.

It is, therefore, requested that I may be granted leave of absence for four days with effect from October 11.
