Cyathium is a special type of inflorescence in which the involucres of bracts becomes fused to form a cup-shaped structure. This cup encloses a single pistillate (female) flower surrounded by a number of staminate (male) flowers. The reduced female flower is represented by a tricarpellary pistil borne an long pedicel. Each reduced male flower is represented by a single stamen with hairy bracts. Secretory glands are present on the margn of involucral cup. This inflorescence is found in Euphorbiaceae family.
